We've been making some good in schools this month! Our chat with a year 7 STEM class at Lumen Christi Catholic College and a year 7 Geography class at Riverside Girls High School included all things sustainability-related, answering some wonderful questions, sharing laughs, and lots of enthusiasm!

The amazing STEM students at Lumen Christi Catholic College asked us everything from the ethics of cultural hunting practices, to what our favourite cheese is! We talked about the greenhouse gas emissions produced by food, cheese being one of the three biggest producers of emissions, and how students can lower their emissions through the food choices they make. We were also asked about who we are, our journey from when we first started till now, and who, or what, inspires us. Talking about what advice we have for year 7s, we looked at the power of kindness; asking students to always be kind to each other, focus on their strengths, and think about how they can use those skills to do something good for our planet. We also shared the value of taking risks and getting involved in the school community in order to make some good in the 'hood!

We also had an interesting chat with the wonderful year 7s at Riverside Girls High School. Looking at sustainability, communities and development, we were asked about what liveability meant to us and why it's important. Students also asked us about our idols, mentors, and inspirations. Thinking about how they can live more sustainably at school, we talked about the ways they can reduce waste, dispose waste properly using their compost and recycling bins, and get involved in their local environment club.

Good For the Hood had a great time chatting with the wonderful year 7s at Lumen Christi Catholic College and Riverside Girls High School! Thanks to Mr Flavell and Ms Skinner Crowe for reaching out on behalf of your students. We're excited to be making some good in schools with our schools package.
